Good to know
Not on its own. Visitors driving in Sri Lanka need a local recognition permit issued against a valid home licence or International Driving Permit. It is a straightforward process and we will point you at exactly what to bring — many customers sort it on their first morning. If you would rather skip it entirely, take a chauffeur-driven car instead.
A refundable security deposit is held for the length of the hire, with the amount depending on the vehicle. It comes back to you in full once the car is returned in the same condition, with no outstanding fines.
Standard hires include a generous daily allowance, and anything over it is charged at a modest per-kilometre rate. If you are planning a big island loop, ask for an unlimited-mileage quote up front and we will price it in.
Yes — anywhere on the island. Delivery inside Colombo is free; elsewhere we charge by distance, and airport delivery at BIA is a fixed fee. Tell us where you are and we will quote it.
Call us. Roadside assistance is included with every rental, and if the vehicle cannot be fixed quickly we will get a replacement to you rather than leave you stranded.
Bank transfer or cash in Sri Lankan rupees for local hires, and we can arrange card payment for longer bookings. You will get a written agreement and receipt for everything.
